The Gate — Hanoi store (Tôn Thất Thiệp)

A two-floor shop in a quiet alley in Ba Đình, about a kilometre west of Hoàn Kiếm Lake and a short walk from the Hanoi train street. Export-surplus outdoor and everyday clothing for men, women and children — jackets, fleece, tees, trousers and swimwear — with the price printed on every tag.

How to find us

The shop is at number 27, alley 8 (ngõ 8) Tôn Thất Thiệp, in Ba Đình — the entrance is inside the alley, off the street, and the sign reads the GATE. The Directions button opens the store's own point on Google Maps, which is the surest way to arrive; a driver who does not read English will find it from the Vietnamese address above.

You are within walking distance if you are already around the Hanoi train street (Trần Phú and Phùng Hưng) or the Imperial Citadel. Hoàn Kiếm Lake and the Old Quarter are roughly a kilometre to the east.

What we sell

Clothing made in Vietnamese factories for international outdoor and casual brands, sold from the surplus of those export runs — the same construction as the branded item, without the brand's retail price. Because it is surplus, sizes and colours come and go; what you see below is what this store holds right now.

Sizing follows the original brand's run, so a European "M" and a Korean "M" can differ — please try on. Staff speak basic English; a translation app works fine for the rest.
